Since 2005, Kokua Kalihi Valley has been dedicated to fostering resilient relationships and creating a cycle of hope through Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange (KVIBE).  KVIBE has transformed used bikes and bicycle parts into community wealth—giving youth and adults an healthy way of navigating the Ahupuaa of Kalihi. 

 

Our Mission

Since 2005, Kokua Kalihi Valley has been dedicated to fostering resilient relationships and creating a cycle of hope through Kalihi Valley Instructional Bike Exchange (KVIBE).  KVIBE has transformed used bikes and bicycle parts into community wealth—giving youth and adults an healthy way of navigating the Ahupuaa of Kalihi.  In addition, Community Education and Civic Engagement (CECE) is passionate about animating the wisdom and power of working class, immigrant, indigenous communities working towards a healthier and more resilient community.  KVIBE and CECE in a joint endeavor envisions our bike shop as a space to mentor youth and young adults while critically engaging our Nakem (Soul Consciousness) through ancestral wisdom and popular education.
